Meyer comes off as a pretty rude man, because, upon meeting Nick, he doesn't even address him and just starts talking about random events that make him seem really shady. He is extremely spacey and doesn't realize that Nick isn't the person that he thought he was talking to until Gatsby cut him off. He's a extremely hairy man, and Nick has a tough time trying to find his small eyes among all of his hair.
